Battlefield 3 anti-cheat measures intensify Jan 11th 2012
In our continued effort to minimize cheating in Battlefield 3, we recently banned another batch of several hundred confirmed cheaters based on your reports and our player behavior data.
At DICE, we will never tolerate cheaters. Life on the battlefield can be harsh, especially when you’re up against the fantastic flying duo. But it should never be a case of you losing because someone is outright cheating.
We have always taken cheating seriously. Starting today, we will further intensify our efforts to hunt down and rid Battlefield 3 of cheaters. Stats wiping and banning this disruptive minority is the only way they will understand that they are ruining the game for others. We do this for the millions of dedicated players out there who deserve a fair game, every game.
If you believe you have been the victim of outright cheating, the best way to report your concerns is to go to Battlelog, enter the profile page of the person you suspect and click the triangle in the top right corner of his name.
This will open up a window where you can describe to us at DICE what happened. Please enter as much detail as possible, describing what specifically makes you believe this player has used unfair methods, and preferably include a link to the Battle Report for the match in question.
These reports are then received by our analysts here at DICE who will do a deeper analysis of the situation and take appropriate action, including stats wiping and/or banning players who are confirmed as cheating.
Reducing the number of cheaters is an ongoing endeavor, and one that we will never stop. Thanks for your co-operation, and see you on the battlefield!
With the team back from the holidays, we have been hard at work on the Cold Stream DLC and wanted to let you know what is going on.
Right now the focus is on making sure the game play wells on the Xbox 360. We still have a few problems spots that we are working on before we begin heavy internal testing and then release to certification. Sorry, we don’t have a release date yet.
Before the holidays, we made a push on outstanding bugs and issues in all the campaigns in the DLC. One of the ongoing bugs has been an item density issue caused by the differences between how Left 4 Dead 1 and 2 handle density.
We looked into a few different ways to handle it. To fix it right, we needed to fix it in each campaign map by map. While we were updating each map, we fixed other bugs and exploits in those maps.
Starting next week we will be releasing these updates a campaign or two at a time to get more feedback from the community. Your playing, posting, and general feedback has made this whole process a much better game for everyone – thanks!
Next week we will start by releasing an updated version of Crash Course and Cold Stream. The other campaigns will follow. While the release notes are lengthy, we can give you some idea of the extent of the updates.
For Crash Course: The Alleys, among the bugs we fixed was removing the exploit where survivors could get on to a roof near the drop down to the river, we rebalanced item distribution, switched out the L4D2 mounted gun for the L4D1 mini-gun, and more.
Some examples from Cold Stream: South Pine Stream; we removed the shortcut through the bushes between a pair of barricades leading to the barrel explosion event, added a tooltip to prompt players to fight to the safe room when the onslaught begins, blocked the ability to get under the map, and more.
We will have detailed release notes for each update as they are released.
We have one last big bit of Cold Stream news. Congratulations are in order for Matthew Lourdelet. The community mapper who created Cold Stream is no longer a community mapper! He is a full blown professional mapper and is part of the team working on Dishonored for Arkane. Congrats Matthew and this gives us yet another reason to look forward to Dishonored!

Redstone Arsenal, AL (December 08, 2011
Redstone Arsenal, AL (December 08, 2011) -- Today, the U.S. Army released America's Army 3.2, which introduces the M106 Fast Obscurant Grenade (FOG) into game-play. With its short fuse, the M106 has the ability to air-burst, so players must throw it immediately. This fast exploding grenade creates a cloud of smoke to cover players' actions, opening up many new strategies in the America's Army game.
This release also marks the move of the game exclusively to the Steam platform for the distribution and authentication. Steam will allow AA users the ability to store up to 24 different Soldiers with unique names in the Steam Cloud and the ability to merge multiple AA3 accounts into one Steam account. It will also standardize the interface tools that are accessed via the client so all AA3 players will see same overlay and leaderboards.
The America's Army forum has a full section of FAQs related to this move.
More info on new features such as the improved ladder functionality and new AA3 loader application, as well as other game-play changes, can be found in the SITREP.

We hope everyone enjoyed the Killing Floor Twisted Christmas through the holiday season, but now it is time for everything to return to “normal”. Well, back to “KF normal”, where the inhabitants are just normal, everyday monsters trying to rip your arms off. So, the game should now be back to that “normal”, Enjoy it!
[We also fixed an annoying little exploit on the dual magnums. So stop trying to use it :p]
